Waking up early on this particular Saturday was a cinch! Ningx’s office is nearby, Che has no work on date, my nanay and sister’s kids dressed up on time. We took a cab, and told him we’re going to the Market, which is a kinda a Whiz, only the driver confused it with the one in Legazpi. Anyways, as we are all now famished, we scanned the market for the goodies. We did find a lot, which ranged from the wet to dry, organic (there is wheatgrass, and there is pink salt!), regional specialties, etc. Imagine, a stall of paella! My kindred ordered barbecue from Ineng’s, I ordered a fourth of Cebu lechon from Manang. It was all so delicious. We had breakfast at Ivy’s, after a stopover at the Mini Stop for a chilled Pepsi Max, our group’s favorite. The Salcedo Market is a trade fair, which is being held within the Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village ,every Saturdays, only. I must say, it had been a very relaxing walk-through weekend full of surprises, as I saw the vendor again of my basil pesto spread, which I bought at the Powerplant just the day before.;D Funny for me though, that some merchants of this bazaar market do speak profound English, I surmise we are not a far-flung from California flea markets.
