A Filipina is behind it. A wife and a mother at that who used to live in tedium in Ireland, but now lives accomplished in the third largest island in Europe. And how did that happen? Let’s just say it occurred in the most unpredictable fashion dictated by a stream of actions rooting from a monotonous subsistence in an alien land. Marigold Rabaca-Tuazon is a chemist by profession. She so held an esteemed life at a laboratory in Makati before she was whisked away by husband Mon to fairy land. The land which has granted her the much-coveted title of My Fair Lady, as she now basked in the glories of a trade fair dweller strutting her personal handiwork to peoples from all walks of life and the world atlas (every 9-12NN of Fridays at the local farmer’s market in Tullow; every mornings of Saturdays at farmer’s market in Bunclody; and 2 to 3 times in a year craft fairs of Carlow).  Gold, as her name bespoken, is a golden child ablaze with creations, and a now-or-never stamina for the enterprising life, thus the birth of Marigold Enterprise. Her no-reservations efforts to take part on the resource centre in their community which is offering short courses like arts & crafts, counseling, sewing, back to work programme, etc. and attendance to some of these short courses offerings pro bono and/or payment of a minimal amount like 15 euros for a 6 or 8 week course, made her the mom mogul that she is today. Her new business venture of selling bags (in any form – clutches, handbags, shoulder bags) and hair clips has now become the buzz of the town. Lucky strokes that her being a fashionista mom as a result of her hobby venture on spare time and sporting the by-products to the centre has turned into a major production. A surprising tale long to be told and retold for years to come.;)

Indeed, Gold is a classic account of an ordinary house crew whose passion in living life to the fullest and employing her time to marshal ennui into ingenious vocation made her one truly, proudly Pinoy.
