Walang Iwanan @ Sitio Mataba, Sacobia, Clark Freeport Zone

with my very reliable "walang iwanan' Sitio Mataba associates - "talaga naman walang naiwan"

Have you ever been to Sitio Mataba? That is where I went January 2009. A real setting of an outdoor traversing through long winding roads and rivers, with thick foliage, steep cliffs, slippery rock formations, abound. In my 35 years, I’ve not done any thing as such. Only when I started running in 2007 that I thought myself fit and fab to start on my own adventures. I used to be the boring and laidback homebody, until I encountered the “rush” one catches from completing difficult or atypical tasks. Finishing 42 kilometers at the Singapore Marathon and more of the non-conformities, made me more resilient to sores and stings (and I mean, not just the corporeal type of sores and stings). Hence now, am Happy Feet. Therefore, two months after the marathon, that I said yes to climbing, swimming, camping at the mountains, down hills, banks of Sacobia. As it was a baptism for me, I have to admit that though am prepared well within, I was not prepared on the tangibles that would have made the experience more convenient. Thanks to our CDC colleagues and ‘kulot’ friends accompanying us and teaching us the basics to crop make-shifts, that I, literally survived. I lacked the things like sleeping bags and blankets and a really huge carry-all bag wherein I could have put all my necessities during the escapade. Now, I know better. As my exploration continues and brings me to http://www.facebook.com/roxphilippines, and http://twitter.com/rox_philippines.
