Hey, I am not being righteous

A road trip to Manila for a meeting with our PIPP TWG and NCC’s Mr. Guillermo Luz this week gave me an opportune time to just sit back and relax while Kuya Freddie of CDC yaks about an officemate he had an encounter with. Upon our approach to Edsa, my attention was caught by the billboards propagated along Balintawak of models in their lingerie. If I am not mistaken, it was Ali Borromeo dressed down to only briefs some where near the GA area that really caught me aback as I felt giddy, ha ha.  As in to be honest, when I meant different, as I really gawked at his billboard in full oath. For the first time (though I’ve been used to seeing scantily-clad icons before along the line), meapektuhan ku, hi hi. For a second, mewala ku ken sarili ku. LOL. Among the Azkal boys, it is Team Captain Ali whom I find irresistible. But then again, why is it that, when I consider myself not the conservative type of gal, I found the billboard, kinda malaswa (or appalling). And even if I am irregularly still attending in the Work activities, I still would find it a lot destructive, a detriment to one’s soul. This is my opinion.

Ali Borromeo is yes, from our Team Philippines. I acknowledge that he really has a bragging right in possessing a scorching form and appearance to go with. And men, the guy makes intelligent counters naman (and sana eku mu dahil mesmerized kaya, coz as they say, like is blind, wa-ha).  Pero naman din, I really find his billboard exploiting. Again, this is my opinion. I have respect for the guy. He is a sports man. I do understand that as I do my own running too.  But I would have expected an uphold on decency and limitations in endorsements as he now has become an admired figure for this generation.  May be not only for Ali, but the rest of the guys as well.  It is just like, finding it imaginable seeing Chris Tiu dress himself in the same.

To the companies, alright, you’ve hit the scrupulous buttons again in drawing those billboards all over Guadalupe and Edsa. You had me and more, gaping.  You have achieved  your target recall, and mileage. Now, get them down.

And no, once again, in my opinion, the shot on Ali was not done tastefully. Heck the rationalization.
