You don't always have to have the best of the best. Such as in mobile phones, as long as it is working for me, my beloved gets to call and text me, an end-of-the-line class type is fine with me. But with the choice of people I mingle with and be long-time buddies with, is a different story. I can say I am a good judge of people. I go with my guts. When I say a person is somewhat kinda creepy and cheesy, I know what am talking about. Some time along the way, I know that person will exhibit his/her unlikely act, as expected. Being in the Marketing arena, or in the lime light, gives me the chance to meet a lot of eccentric people (as I am!;)p) There are those who are so down-to-earth that you feel and question yourself if they’re for real, or reel. I fancy those people who being owners of mansions and long-time residents of the North Forbes, still have their feet careening the ground. We have a friend as such. He has this authoritative aura, and yet, when it comes to doing farm duties, he is your DIY-man and 24-hour help center. He exemplifies our dream boy in scarcity now-a-days. Very much like House Husbands, who I give a lot of credit for being what I call the “new wonders of sophistication.” I am awed by them. Them being macho and educated, and yet, keeps the house well in order. I don’t chastise them. I have remarkable respect for them. Them who, holds out okay, doing the laundry, cooking, cleaning, grocery, and tending the kids. I am not yakking about this just so to keep up with the trend, but such is a reality, as house husbands who are very accepting of their occupational status are in rarity given the present economic condition. I muse over a guy who in spite of being scholarly and highly in rank, was all ready to carry on the household duties so his wife can work on her career. I am indeed surprised to know that he worked on the study shelves, cooks perfect English breakfast, does the laundry, eh anyang atiu keti ‘Pinas, eke man a-imagine na biasa yang manos pinggan ne! (not I imagined that he even washes his own plate). He inspires me. Yes, there are a few good men, who displays sportsmanship and gentlemanly behavior. And, He happens to be my best friend. So proud of him. You know who you are.
I live and can live simply. I’ll survive having the most austere, unbranded essentials. What’s important is the character you’re making out of yourself.
